Boy Scouts of America

This 100-year old organization for young people–mostly boys–offers training in responsible citizenship, character development and self-reliance.Programs feature participation in a range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and for older kids, career-oriented programs in
partnership with community organizations. Cub Scouts learn basic values of trustworthiness, good citizenship, and outdoor skills by participating in activities like camping, hiking, swimming & boating.

BSA fosters traditional Scouting by chartering local groups through churches, civic clubs, or educational organizations, to ground youngsters in their own communities. Units are led entirely by adult volunteers appointed by the chartering organization, which is supported by local councils using both paid Professional Scouters and volunteers.
