The park also has a loop trail near the lakeshore and some spurs into the adjacent forest. The trail system is small and not well maintained, but it offers a nice way to stretch your legs and enjoy the solitude. The trail is about 1.2 miles long and has no elevation gain. It is suitable for hikers of all levels and dogs on leash.
Square Lake is part of Square Lake Park, a former state park that was transferred to Kitsap County in October 2020. The park has a parking lot, an all-gender bathroom, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. You can access the park without a Discover Pass, which makes it a convenient and affordable option for locals and visitors alike.
