South Kitsap and Port Orchard has a long history of banding together with things get tough. South Kitsap managed to weather the storm of Covid-19 with great success. It has been a difficult time for all residents and businesses.

In addition to the 2020 Pandemic, Port Orchard was hit by a tornado in December of 2018. Needless to say, it was something the city and county were not prepared for, but everybody pulled together. Local food banks, Churches, and governments were quick to react to minimize the damage and the long-term effect of all those involved.
