South Kitsap School District

The South Kitsap School District is the largest employer in Port Orchard and offers an excellent educational opportunity for each student. Graduation rates are among one of the highest in the state at 84%, with the District’s reading and math scores exceeding the state average in primary grades. South Kitsap also has a strong home schooling population and also offers at least 6 private church operated schools. With two campuses in Kitsap, Olympic College utilizes the latest technology to provide a wide range of educational programs and services including on-site and distant learning access to four-year programs at four different partner universities. Everest College, Chapman University, and the Northwest College of Art also provide certificate and degree programs in Kitsap. Port Orchard/South Kitsap is also within easy commuting distance of major universities in Tacoma and Seattle.
